Nestled in the heart of Bristol, our burial ground offers 100 acres of rich parkland suitable for all denominations with specially designed resting sites for Muslim and Jewish communities. The Memorial Woodlands are designed to enhance the environment with new woodland and provide a peaceful and reflective space.
Chesham Bois Burial Ground is an award winning ground run by Bois Parish Council. It was runner up in the 2022 National Death Centre awards and offers a hybrid facility. We provide a range of affordable burial options including both traditional and natural burials and interment of ashes.

Eco-friendly Practices:
- No vases, edgings, statuary or personal effects may be placed on graves.

Trust Payments
The first one meter of top soil is owned by a trust which means they own the rights to all trees and plants. This is to ensure the site and the flora and fauna remain well looked after forever.

Funeral Packages
Memorial Woodlands Bristol offers a selection of burial and cremation packages.
Prices start from £1,495 for an unattended funeral. All packages include the collection of your loved one and a simple coffin. The more expensive packages include the use of the reception rooms.
Catering is available for an additional fee ranging from simple tea and coffee service at £2.70 per guest to a Deli menu at £16.95 per guest.
You are also welcome to arrange your own custom package.

You can pre-purchase a burial plot at any time.
Cultural and religious preferences are available. There is the choice of selecting a plot within the dedicated Jewish cemetery, the Meadows of Peace Muslim cemetery, or within the woodland cemeteries.
What is a woodland burial?
Woodland burials are for those seeking to combine a final resting place with the tradition of nature. Plots are available in the wood land areas and new trees native to the British Isles are planted in these areas.
Can we use our own gravestone?
All gravestones must be purchased from Bristol Memorial Woodlands Ltd.
Can we erect a bench?
Yes, However, it must be purchased from Bristol Memorial Woodlands.
Are there any legal restrictions on how long we own the land?
All plots are leased for a period of 125 years. However, a trust owns the first meter of top soil. This is to ensure the protection of trees and plants.
Can we choose what trees to plant?
No: Only native species can be planted.
